Top Gun Blu ray

Jingoism, beefcake, military hardware, and a Giorgio Moroder rock score reign supreme over taste and logic in this Tony Scott film about a maverick trainee pilot (Tom Cruise) who can’t follow the rules at a Navy aviation training facility. The dogfight sequences between American and Soviet jets at the end are absolutely mechanical, though audiences loved it at the time. The love story between Cruise’s character and that of Kelly McGillis is like flipping through pages of advertising in a glossy magazine. This designer action movie from 1986 would be all the more appalling were it not for the canny casting of good actors in dumb parts. Standouts include Anthony Edwards–who makes a nice impression as Cruise’s average-Joe pal–and the relatively unknown Meg Ryan in a small but memorable appearance. –Tom Keogh

5 Stars Top Gun Blu-ray
I loved all the bonus features. More than 3 hours of behind the scenes footage & interviews the director, cast & crew, both now & on the set in 1985. Great stuff!!

5 Stars Better then ever.
Top Gun is an amazing movie plain and simple. I watched it 3 times on VHS in a row the first time I saw it. Its the perfect movie to watch with a girlfriend because it offers enough action and romance to keeps both parties interested. But i’m sure this has all been said before, the real question is “Is it worth it on blue ray?” My awnser, ABSOLUTELY. The movie looks better then ever, the blue’s and oranges have been tweaked but it gives the movie a more vibrant modern look. The plains look amazing, and the in cockpit views provide some of the best detail images of any blue-ray movie released. The the visuals and audio experience manages to keep up with todays standards while still keeping the charm that made the movie so great to begin with. Whether your a old fan or a new one, this movie remains top notch, and is definitly worth the upgrade to blu-ray.

1 Star Directors cut????
I purchased this video, after reading about its features, thinking it was the “original cut, not the directors cut. I am displeased with the video only because I was sent the directors cut vs the original score, which I may add that the directors cut has a totally different musical score thoughout the entire movie (which I do not like), many extra scenes and cut scenes from the original movie release. There was “no” mention on the web page that this was a directors cut, thus I feel ripped off. This is a great film for me in its original format, but very poor in the directors cut. The company that sold it probably just wanted to get rid of these extra directors cut videos, and did not tell the truth about the movie format just to get them out of the store. VERY DISPLEASED WITH THIS PURCHASE

5 Stars movie
i want to thank you. it was more than i thought. i give 5 stars. again thank you

5 Stars This was GREAT
The product was in perfect condition and is just what I wanted. It came in a very timely manner.

2 Stars Shocked and dissapointed by the Director’s Cut
Luckily I had the forsight to rent the Director’s Cut of Legend before buying it on DVD. I have watched the American released version many times since I was a child and I wanted to see what all the fuss was about with the Director’s Cut. All I can say is a soundtrack and a few scenes can certainly make or break a movie. I HATED the Director’s Cut version. Although Legend is already campy, I felt like the Director’s Cut took this movie over the line from endearing to cheestastic. I could not stop laughing at the way the soundtrack did not fit with the movie. I felt like I was listening to the soundtrack of an old Disney movie. If you are used to the American release of this movie and the Tangerine Dream soundtrack, do yourself a favor and stick with what you know when purchasing this movie.

4 Stars Still Amazes me
I loved this movie as a child, and I just recently bought it to watch it again and its still an awesome movie, all the specail effects and everything are just amazing special for the movie in that time. It was made in 1987. ANd if you watch movies from then they are really cheesy and the special effect kind of suck, but all in all this movie is great I love it!
