Top Gun Blu ray

Jingoism, beefcake, military hardware, and a Giorgio Moroder rock score reign supreme over taste and logic in this Tony Scott film about a maverick trainee pilot (Tom Cruise) who can’t follow the rules at a Navy aviation training facility. The dogfight sequences between American and Soviet jets at the end are absolutely mechanical, though audiences loved it at the time. The love story between Cruise’s character and that of Kelly McGillis is like flipping through pages of advertising in a glossy magazine. This designer action movie from 1986 would be all the more appalling were it not for the canny casting of good actors in dumb parts. Standouts include Anthony Edwards–who makes a nice impression as Cruise’s average-Joe pal–and the relatively unknown Meg Ryan in a small but memorable appearance. –Tom Keogh

5 Stars Top Gun Blu-ray
I loved all the bonus features. More than 3 hours of behind the scenes footage & interviews the director, cast & crew, both now & on the set in 1985. Great stuff!!
5 Stars Better then ever.
Top Gun is an amazing movie plain and simple. I watched it 3 times on VHS in a row the first time I saw it. Its the perfect movie to watch with a girlfriend because it offers enough action and romance to keeps both parties interested. But i’m sure this has all been said before, the real question is “Is it worth it on blue ray?” My awnser, ABSOLUTELY. The movie looks better then ever, the blue’s and oranges have been tweaked but it gives the movie a more vibrant modern look. The plains look amazing, and the in cockpit views provide some of the best detail images of any blue-ray movie released. The the visuals and audio experience manages to keep up with todays standards while still keeping the charm that made the movie so great to begin with. Whether your a old fan or a new one, this movie remains top notch, and is definitly worth the upgrade to blu-ray.

Ashley Bishop is going to have the best Sweet Sixteen birthday party. She’s asked to forgo the traditional celebration in lieu of a birthday cruise. And her father has agreed to the idea. So Ashley and her boyfriend, half-sister, and four others are off on a cruise to the Bahamas.
Ashley’s half-sister, Charlotte, moved in with Ashley’s family not too long ago. Charlotte had been living with her mother on the west coast. But after her mother is killed in an accident, their mutual father brings Charlotte to New York to live with them. Ashley is determined to make her feel part of the family. She is excited to have a sister that she can share everything with. The only problem is Charlotte doesn’t know the meaning of fun and she’s very reserved. She only wants to spend time with her boyfriend, Sam, and obsessing about getting a scholarship to a good university.
On the first day of the cruise, Ashley meets a waiter, Logan Gallo. They immediately click, and agree to meet up at the dance club that night. One small problem, though - Ashley’s boyfriend, Finn, is along on the cruise. However, after Finn scares her in the hallway, it’s the final straw. Ashley has been trying to break it off for weeks with Finn but could never go through with it. But the fright gives her the courage to break up with him. He threatens that she’ll be sorry. After all, Ashley and Finn are two of the most popular kids at their high school, and Finn has never been the dumpee before. But Ashley is relieved she’s finally done it, and vows to enjoy her cruise.
But too many strange coincidences start to happen… After the scare from Finn, the railing on her balcony breaks off and plunges into the water. Only by quick action on her part does she keep herself from following the railing. It doesn’t help when her friends tell her at dinner that the previous summer a girl around the same age went missing and was never found. Rumors are that Taylor fell overboard.
In the course of the week-long cruise, too many close calls happen to Ashley that it’s getting a bit too uncomfortable for her. Except for her friends and her budding relationship with Logan, she is starting to get quite antsy. At one time or another, she suspects almost everyone at trying to harm her.
To find out what happens to Ashley and how she makes out, you’ll just have to pick up your own copy of KILLER CRUISE. The story is a quite heart pounding page-turner. I stayed up till after midnight to finish the book. I had to find out who was behind everything. It wasn’t who I expected!
I enjoyed KILLER CRUISE a lot and hope that Ms. Shaw writes more books in the future. I know I’ll be in line to read them if she does!

5 Stars A Fast Enjoyable Read!!!
I really liked this book!!! It reminded me of R.L. Stine’s Fear Street series. It doesn’t have ghosts, curses, or nothing like that but it’s just that Stine’s books had the whole ‘who is out to get me and why’ vibe to it. I can’t recall reading a book that had that same quality feel to it. I love reading books like that! Although I was able to figure out who it was early on in the book, I still like it. Also there was only one murdered victim, unlike Stine’s where he usually kills off several (and you can pretty much guess which characters he decides to kill off). I liked the fact that Shaw was able to at least kill off a character (after all it is called “Killer Cruise”) and that I didn’t see it coming. The only thing I didn’t like was how stupid the heroine was. I mean yeah they’re not supposed to know who the evil person is and they are supposed to be super smart, but she should have been a little bit more wise. I mean there were obvious clues that, if that were happening to me, I would have suspected other people, and I would have asked my friends to help me investigate ,like little “Nancy Drews” putting clues together and stuff like that (after all the main charcter Ashley did have two best friends Simone and Kristine). I mean, granted, some of the people she suspected did have motives, but none of them seemed psychopathic enough to be a killer. Regardless, I still enjoyed the book very much. I really did and I really do recommend it. Not as bloody or scary as R.L. Stine’s Fear Street, but still an enjoyable fast read!!! I look forward to future works from Jennifer Shaw!!!
